| Resumo: | Introduction: The Q-angle measurement is widely used in PFPS patients. Objective: To compare the Q-angle and the pain in the patellofemoral joint between subjects with and without PFPS. Methods: The study included 57 women, 26 with PFPS (GSDPF) and 31 healthy control (GC). The Q-angles were evaluated in both lower limbs of subjects with PFPS (affected limb – MCL and no affected limb – MNC) and the dominant member of asymptomatic subjects (MD). Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical with p≤0.05. Results: Findings showed significant difference in pain intensity on the first day of trial and last week among the lower limbs (p=0.01). The MC lower limb showed higher pain intensity compared with the other lowers limbs. Conclusion: No significant differences in Q-angle magnitude among lower limbs (MC, MNC and MD) were observed, indicating that the static evaluation of the Q-angle does not characterize individuals with PFPS. |
