Resumo:The article is the result of an ethnography performed at a UBS in the city of São Paulo about the use of integrative and complementary practices, particularly yoga and meditation through the referral of health professionals to their patients of the UBS. The narratives present the point of view of health professionals about the practices in the public health system as well as the effects of the treatment on patients. In everyday practice, the professionals' narratives point to the adherence of these practices concomitantly with the use of allopathic treatment. One of the consequences is the leading to the reduction of medicines, mitigating their side effects; or suspending them and using yoga practices and meditation for anxiety and mild depression, occupying the care network as increasingly therapeutic resources without discarding the tensions involved in this coexistence of knowledge.
