| Summary: | This research delves into the groups congregated within the National Network of Catholic LGBTI+ Groups (REDE). It examines the subjects within these groups, the environments where they hold their meetings, the conflicts and challenges they face, the strategies they create, the narratives they produce, and the paradoxes they grapple with in constructing their identity and in claiming their Catholic citizenship. In terms of its nature, this is a mixed-methods research employing bibliographic, quantitative, and qualitative approaches. The quantitative aspect includes all groups participating in the REDE. As for the qualitative aspect, four groups were selected as a sample. The hypothesis defended here is that despite not yet offering a systematized theological narrative stemming from their dissident sexualities, Catholic LGBTI+ groups reveal themselves as a fertile space for reflection on the sacred, a breeding ground for experiences and discourses about God that affirm and celebrate the beauty of their difference, with the potential to challenge cisheteronormative ecclesial theological discourses in the medium and long term |
