Summary:The organizations build decisions, aiming to success, development and adaptation to conditions imposed by the external environment competitive. Informational tools used by managers in its decisions, particularly in innovation is supported, generally, by in informational environment, unfolded in their various sources of information, knowledgeorganizational (tacit or explicit) and their personal experience, good sense, intuition. The study was to investigate the role of information and knowledge in the process, and exploration of the fundamental concepts such as informational environment, sources of information, knowledge and dialectic organizational, knowledge synthesis, intuition and otherbasics analysis of such behavior. The field research brought important elements for understanding the use and importance of sources of information and knowledge individual and collective evaluated managers interviewed. The field survey obeys the methodological procedures recommended by the technique of critical incidents and other recommendations for the study of phenomena this nature. The results revealed instances of behavior informational which were classified within the Schumpeters vision of innovation, allowing an advance for the improvement of the two models proposed toward the understanding of how the role of information and knowledge in this decision making specific.
