Description
Summary:The objective was to investigate gender relations in karate. An integrative literature review was adopted from the SciELO, Lilacs and Scopus databases, in which six texts made up the corpus of this work. Of the studies found, five were developed between 2018 and 2023 and five articles were developed in Europe – Spain, England and Scotland – showing that this field of study is centralized in these regions. In the spaces investigated, women need to negotiate their participation through the adoption of aggressive and combative postures, at the same time, their behavior is regulated by normative femininity, triggering greater efforts for their inclusion and permanence in karate.
