Resumo:The distancing from oral sources of research in the human sciences, provided by a positivist heritage, limited for years the analyzes based on myths, tales and stories as normative elements of the organization of some peoples. In this sense, this article seeks to reflect on the potential of Macuxi cosmology, through the analysis of its social and historical role. For that, part of the information presented in the dissertation defended by Elder Silva Marques was used, with the title “Anna Pantoni Eseru - The Ways of Understanding and Preservation of Archaeological Sites in Indigenous Communities: a case study on the Camararém Community, Makuxi Indigenous Land Roraima – Brazil”. This article sought to deepen the data collected for the dissertation, such as interviews and experience reports, in order to, based on historicist-based hermeneutics, identify which components of Macuxi mythology reverberate facts from the history of the Camararém community – Raposa Serra do Sol.
