Descripción
Sumario:This article analyses the process of rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and the BRICS plus countries in the midst of Riyadh's efforts to consolidate a movement to diversify its external partnerships. At the intersection of the theoretical and methodological premises of world-systems analysis and different ways of studying foreign policy, it advances in the elaboration of an investigation of the domestic, regional and systemic characteristics that influence the process of international reorientation of the Saudi monarchy. It argues that, without abandoning the historical objectives that have shaped its foreign policy, Riyadh is projecting itself internationally as one of the main Arab interlocutors among the global powers, expanding its conditions for direct intervention in the major debates on the present and future of world politics.
