| Resumo: | This research aimed to understand the social representations of students from the Urupema Campus of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina regarding “being a Proeja student”. The investigation followed a qualitative approach, with an exploratory emphasis and a field research design; and made use of some elements of quantitative research. Data were collected through the free word association technique (FWAT) with justification, and a questionnaire. The participants were 30 Proeja students from the Urupema Campus. To analyse the data, the following approaches were used: (1) prototypical analysis; and (2) analysis of similarity. It was concluded there is evidence the centrality of the students’ representations consists of elements related to the opportunity to study to have a better future. |
