Sumario:The present article aims at both the possibility of understanding the relationship between Freud and Kant, and of determining certain limits of this approximation, from the comparison proposed by Béatrice Longuenesse between Freudian Ich and Kantian transcendental unity of apperception. Since such a comparison is sustained by the characterization of Freud's Ego as an organization of mental events governed by the reality principle and by the laws of secondary processes, it will be emphasized that this same psychic instance carries unconscious parts in the dynamic sense and bears the marks of the Id, while what is most irrational in psychic life.
