| Sumario: | Utetheisa is a genus of moth that has a worldwide distribution, in their larval period they are defoliators of cultivated plants. Knowledge of the occurrence and its method of distribution in plantation areas, where they are inserted, is considered highly importantfor understanding the biodiversity of these increasingly common ecosystems in Brazil. We investigated the occurrence of Utetheisa species in plantation areasinserted in several phytogeographic domains of the Brazilian territory, to understand the potential distribution of the species that occur in Brazil, as well as to know the ideal conditions for their establishment and propagation. For this, the maxent algorithm was used to model the ecological niche and potential distribution of Utetheisa ornatrix (Linnaeus, 1758) and Utetheisa pulchella (Linnaeus, 1758). We identified that the abundance of the genus in the sample survey was 10,442 (N), U. ornatrix with 10,299 (N) and U. pulchella with 143 (N), in relation to the points of occurrence in total, 147 were obtained for application in ecological niche modeling 133 for U. ornatrix and 17 for U. pulchella, with three sample points, from the systematized collections, of U. ornatrix being repeated for U. pulchella. The variables with the greatest influence on the distribution of U. ornatrix were the warmest maximum temperatures and, for U. pulchella it was the precipitation of the coldest quarter. |
