Resumo:The article discusses four contextual, cultural and media aspects that contributed to the creation and the publicizing of experimental works in Brazilian popular music during the 70’s. These aspects are: the expansion of the phonographic industry, TV and the television image, the conceptual use of the album and the counterculture’s marks in the minds of artists and audience. These conditions, when analyzed in relation, let some artists – Walter Franco, Secos & Molhados, Tom Zé, among others – work popular song’s language with creativity and have publicizing media.
