| Summary: | This paper aims to analyze the aspects of the literary discourse. Special emphasis is given to the theories which conceive the literary text as an intrinsically differentiated language and to Carlos Reis’ theory, who sees the literary discourse as an institutionally determined text. Through the analysis of those literary discourse conceptualization approaches, regarding the opinion that literature is formed historically and culturally, we concluded that both present an important perspective to understand what literature is; however, it is perceived that only a wider point of view can lead us to the comprehension of the literary discourse. |
