The contributions of agriculture to climate change are presented and the impacts of climate change on family agriculture in the semiarid region are analyzed. Evidence of mitigation and adaptation in agroecological systems of the semiarid region is presented and an outline of an agenda of the sector based on the commitments assumed by the country and the needs of mitigation and adaptation is provided.O presente artigo faz uma reflexão teórica e em certa medida propositiva das concepções, suposições e evidências das mudanças climáticas nos trópicos, com ênfase no Semiárido brasileiro. São apresentadas as contribuições da agricultura para a mudança do clima e se analisam os impactos advindos das mudanças climáticas na agricultura familiar do Semiárido.
