Difere das duas espécies conhecidas na forma e posição dos retroestiletes e na ornamentação das pernas.Gamidactylus hopliussp. n. was collected from nasal fossae of Hoplias maiabaricus.The new species resembles Gamidactylus jaraquensisand Gamidactylus bryconisin having antennae with moveable spine distally on the third segment and terminal claw, and a pair of strong moveable lateral retrostylets on the first thoracic somite.
