| Summary: | Based on the memorial actions of Zélia Gattai in photography and literature which built up a photographic collection later donated to Casa de Jorge Amado Foundation (FCJA, Salvador) in 1991, to contribute to research on the life and work of the writer Jorge Amado, we seek to report and to analyze the procedures in favor of the musealization that originated the museum Casa do Rio Vermelho - Jorge Amado and Zélia Gattai, a municipal institution managed by the Secretary of Development, Tourism, and Culture of Salvador. The methodology was based on information collected from journalistic materials and literary publications, making it possible to identify the contributions to the musealization of the house at Rua Alagoinhas 33. We concluded that the musealization of the residence was possible thanks to the narrative processes instituted by the writer herself over five decades and with this her legal and symbolic heirs set up the museum. |
