Descripción
Sumario:This work analyzes how, before the new world panorama of the telecommunications market, the operators have been aiming its strategies at the diversification, whether in the productive/service or geographical domain. These companies strategies are converging for the increase of Service mix of added values and also for the enlargement of the performance in the global markets. This work approaches specifically the Latin-American telecommunications market. To do so, the process of the telecommunications sector restructuring in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and México is approached, because one considers that these are some of the most important markels in Latin America. Four operators known as market leaders were selected to serve as an example. These operators are BellSouth, France Telecom, Telecom Italia, and Telefônica da Espana. Entering new markets of Services or geographical ones demanded great investments from the operators —which has provoked high-degree debts and reduced the investors' euphoria in the sector.
