| Sumario: | The verbalizations by a first-grade teacher and her pupilswere recorded during the development of classroom activities for sixmonths of the school year, in a total observation time of 9 hours and 45minutes. The data analysis yielded a system of categories which describesthe nature of pupils' questions, teacher's verbalizations and academicactivities. A great part of the pupils' questions consisted of requests forpermission to participate in academic activity or to go to the toilet, and forinformation about academic content. Nearly half of the teacher's verbalizationswere comprised of instructions or commands of disciplinary or academicnature. Although it was not possible to establish the types of question which would characteristically appear in each activity, some trends weredetected in the distribution of questions in relation to the form of presentationof the activities. The results are discussed mainly in terms of the restrictionimposed by classroom activities on pupils' curiosity. |
