Sumario:This article aims to analyze the journalistic narratives on violence in the city of Fortaleza in the second half of the nineteenth century. The objective is to understand how the discourses published in periodicals intended to control the population and the centralization of power in Fortaleza. The emphasis is especially on events such as assassinations and police violence in the city space.
