| Sumario: | Nowadays, much has been said about the future scenario of potable water on the planet. Experts warn of the rapid population growth and lack of effective action to preserve this valuable asset. Some regions already face scarcity or total lack of adequate water for human consumption. Although attempts have been made to reverse this situation, to date the most effective solutions have been save water already treated and / or to improve treatment processes. Thus, in the context of scientific research, all initiatives aimed at producing methods that help achieve this goal are highly recommended. The present work had the objective to illustrate a panorama about academic works and patents of product destined to the processing of water or effluents that seek to improve the quality or the availability of this essential fluid to exist in the Earth. The methods of reuse and its requirements, as well as the benefits and possible problems involved, are discussed. In addition, some patents of invention found in the INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property) database are presented. They refer about equipment that enables reuse in the residential and commercial environments. |
