Sumario:Education plays an important role in overcoming latent racism in Brazil. However, elaborating a curriculum that presents a rupture with the current power relations in society and works on the education of ethnic-racial relations is a challenge. This research sought to explore the advances achieved regarding the insertion of the ethnic-racial theme in the curricula of initial training courses for Science teachers offered in public higher education institutions, located in Alagoas. In the theoretical foundation, aspects related to education and ethnic-racial relations were addressed, as well as curricular theories and ways of inserting the racial theme in the teaching of Science. The methodology used was based on content analysis. It was observed that the analyzed curricula approached ethnic-racial issues in an incipient and fragmented way.
