Resumo:Objectives: identify in the reviewed articles the intraoperative and postoperative FIO to reduce the incidence of SSI. Methods: A systematic literature review was carried out, in which the literature search was performed inthe following databases: LILACS, PUBMED and SCIELO in order to answer the following guiding question: Correlationof intravenous and postoperative oxygen inspired fraction with the lowest incidence of SSI. Results: In the evaluation ofthe articles studied,  did not prove a relevant improvement in SSI after the use of high FiO2. However,  studies showed alower incidence of this infection in patients who received high concentrations of supplemental oxygen intraoperativelyand postoperatively. Conclusion: there is a positive correlation between intraoperative and postoperative FIO increasewith the lower incidence of SSI, however, given the small number of studies available in the literature and the heterogeneitypopulations of study and surgical procedures, it is concluded that further research is needed.
