| Summary: | This article presents research results involving videos and interviews focused on funk ostentação available on the YouTube platform at a time of greater profusion of the musical subgenre on the national scene (2011-2015). It was up here to draw some relationships between the speeches given by young funk singers, based on their life stories, and the more general context of socioeconomic changes of that period, notably, the expansion of the consumer market within the Brazilian peripheries in the governments of the Workers’ Party. The Interpretative Content Analysis (AIC) method was applied to a corpus involving videos with interviews on YouTube of MCs with the greatest media projection within this musical circuit, notably producer and entrepreneur Konrad Dantas. Authors such as Zigmunt Bauman, Pierre Bourdieu, Richard Sennett, Pierre Dardot and Christian Laval, Verónica Gago, Vander Casaqui and Mayka Castellano, among others, contribute to the theoretical reflection. From a general corpus involving 52 interviews, it was concluded that both KondZilla and the six MCs narrated a story of social ascension driven by a trajectory of effort and success based on discourses characterized by individualistic logic and the phenomenon of self-entrepreneurship. |
