Descripción
Sumario:This study examines the theme of vulnerability within the sociological perspective on disasters. It posits that the integration of the vulnerability concept into sociology can be delineated into three phases: i) vulnerabilization; ii) vulnerability; iii) vulnerabilism. Drawing upon the distinctions and parallels between these three analytical frameworks, the paper introduces rereading and a theoretical repositioning of vulnerability in the field of disasters. To substantiate this proposition, the research employs a qualitative, bibliographic, and exploratory methodology, structured into four main sections: a) it starts by addressing the political and cognitive factors linked to the emphasis on vulnerability; b) it then delves into the distinction between pre- and post impact phases; c) the third section sheds light on the disparities inherent in socioeconomic development processes; d) the fourth section explores the domination processes; e) in conclusion, synthesizing the findings, the paper offers a new interpretation of the vulnerability concept within sociology.
