| Sumario: | This work is a result of research carried out with students from quilombola communities in the municipality of Portalegre (RN), who attend High school. It had as one of its main bases the concept of quilombola identity, given the understanding that the social perceptions built by the subjects are tied to their subjectivities. In this way, the objective of the study is to understand how the students perceive the High School give their identity references. For that, it was used the autobiography as a research methodology. Our sources focused on two written narratives and two narrative interviews. The theoretical foundation is based on authors such as Souza (2012), Hall (2016) and Gomes (2017), as well as on the analysis of the PoliticalPedagogical Project from the school which is the field of study. The article is organized as follows: initially presents a historical reflection on the quilombos, today known as quilombola communities; next it approaches the theoretical base of the concepts of the quilombola identity concepts; and finally, presents the data analysis, making a relation between the students’ perception about High School and the identity references. In this sense, the study concludes that, in student’s perception the school doesn’t develop teaching practices aimed to appreciate the quilombola identity. |
