Summary:This article aims to historicize the curriculum policies in Brazil since the Federal Constitution of 1988 that legally justify the construction of the BNCC. In this sense, the following legislation and its construction contexts were analyzed: Federal Constitution of 1988; the 1996 LDB; PCNs; the 2010 DCN; and the PNE (2014-2024). The construction of these laws and the construction process of these documents occur in the midst of intense debates and discussions. In this way, the BNCC carries with it the ideological, political and interest clashes that have permeated educational public policies in Brazil for years.
