The work is of a qualitative nature and is characterized as a case study, in which we analyze the items displayed in the museum pavilions more clearly related to Environmental Education and the potential for the promotion of Environmental Education. We used Bardin's Content Analysis (2006) to analyze 17 of the 252 items in the collection. The results revealed that the Parque da Ciência Newton Freire Maia collection has the potential to contribute to the development of Environmental Education, including its critical aspect.
