Descripción
Sumario:This study investigates self-narratives mediated by cinema in the school environment based on an audiovisual production experience carried out, in the context of workshops, with three public education workers in the library of the Municipal School Rui da Costa Val. The initial research project included actions to be developed with students of the ninth year of elementary education of the school mentioned above, but due to the occurrence of the COVD-19 pandemic and the closing of schools to contain the spread of the virus, the course of the research was modified, so that the audiovisual workshops held in the Laboratory of Audiovisual Practices (LAPA) of the Faculty of Education of UFMG, between the months of September 2019 and February 2020, are the basis of this study on cinema, education and self-narratives. Configuring itself as a qualitative-based action research, the work carried out in this study resulted in the documentary short film one drawing, several emotions (Ana Paula Gomes, 2020, 21'). In the movie, I and three more women, inspired by a handmade drawing of the school, make considerations about education, cinema, life, affections, struggles and our dreams. The intention is to discuss the power of self-narratives mediated by cinema and the unfolding of this experience regarding multiliteracies of the school community involved in the process. Thus, the specific objectives of this study are: to discuss the process of audiovisual production carried out in the Municipal School Rui da Costa Val during the LAPA workshops; to understand in what way the narrative of the protagonists of the documentary had an impact on the relationships in the school community; to investigate possible tensions and displacements in the process of audiovisual production in the school environment and understand how the self-narratives mediated by cinema can contribute to boost critical thinking in students of the Final Years of Primary Education.
