Resumo:During the 2018 Brazilian presidential election campaign, Bolsonaro was characterized by being associated with the conservative political wing and the Christian religion. However, several times the content of his speeches adduced a complete dissonance with the Gospel of Christ. Obliterating this fact, many Christians not only voted for Bolsonaro, but also created a kind of idolatry based on his image. The present research tries to work some aspects about the incompatibility between Bolsonarism and the Gospel of Christ. Because they are antagonistic ideological structures, it is impossible to amalgamate them. In the first part, it will be approached how the construction of Bolsonaro’s messianism and the message of his “gospel”, rooted in a bellicose speech; in the second part, the Gospel of Christ’s peace will be presented from the Sermon on the Mount; finally, in the final considerations, some elements will be pointed out that aim to help Brazilian society to assess any political-religious discourse that calls itself Christian.
