This paper aims to analyze how interculturality may become an agent to promote decoloniality starting from education. The research was based on bibliographic studies in order to understand the concept of the term intercultural and its relevance to the promotion of decolonial education. The readings of the productions of the Modernity/Coloniality Group (GM/C) - formed mainly by ten Latin researchers - stimulate the study about questions of cultural diversity, intercultural education and decoloniality. In addition, it examines the quality of teacher training to understand how it can promote the valuing of the most varied cultures in the classroom. During this research, it was possible to realize that the opinions of the GM/C scholars converge towards the idea that the incentive to interculturality in the training of both teachers and students allows for the development of educational projects that respect and attend to social and cultural transformations. The decolonization of knowledge is fundamental, in order to make society more humane and ethical, breaking away from patterns of exclusion and discrimination. |

La investigación se basó en estudios bibliográficos con el fin de comprender el concepto del término intercultural y su relevancia para la promoción de una educación decolonial. Las lecturas de las producciones del Grupo Modernidade/Colonialidade (GM/C) - compuesto principalmente por diez investigadores latinos - estimulan el estudio de temas como la diversidad cultural, la educación intercultural y la decolonialidad. Además, examina la calidad de la formación docente para comprender cómo puede favorecer la apreciación de las más variadas culturas dentro del aula. En el transcurso de esta investigación, fue posible percibir que las opiniones de los pensadores de GM/C convergen en la idea de que fomentar la interculturalidad en la formación tanto de profesores como de estudiantes, posibilita la elaboración de proyectos educativos que respeten y respondan a las transformaciones sociales y culturales. Es fundamental tener la descolonización del conocimiento, para que se rompan los patrones de exclusión y discriminación, para hacer la sociedad más humana y ética.Este texto objetiva analisar como a interculturalidade pode vir a ser um agente promotor da descolonialidade a partir da educação. A pesquisa se deu com base em estudos bibliográficos a fim de entender o conceito do termo intercultural e sua relevância para o fomento de uma educação decolonial. As leituras das produções do Grupo Modernidade/Colonialidade (GM/C) - formado principalmente por dez pesquisadores latinos - estimulam o estudo acerca de questões como diversidade cultural, educação intercultural e decolonialidade. Além disso, examina a qualidade da formação do docente para entender de que forma ela pode favorecer a valorização das mais variadas culturas dentro de sala de aula. No decorrer desta pesquisa, foi possível perceber que as opiniões dos pensadores do GM/C convergem para a ideia de que o incentivo à interculturalidade na formação tanto de docentes, quanto de discentes, possibilita a elaboração de projetos educacionais que respeitam e atendem às transformações sociais e culturais.
