| Resumo: | This paper aims to show how and why the commitment to objectivity is a characteristic of the good student as described in Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics. Therefore, it attempts to provide at least one justification for the Aristotelian requirement of good habits as a precondition to follow his ethical lessons. As will be seen, such habits are somehow responsible for engendering the commitment to objectivity. Engaging in virtuous activity provides students with experience in what is really living well and thus provides the proper perspective from which they will be able to correctly judge arguments concerning the good life for human beings. |
