| Resumo: | This article presents a literature review on the continuing education of physics teachers in basic education, with a focus on the state of Piauí, Brazil. The study aims to analyze the impacts of continuing education on teaching practices, identify challenges and opportunities within the educational context of Piauí, and highlight gaps in the literature that require further investigation. The methodology involved selecting articles published in the past ten years from databases such as Scielo, CAPES Periódicos, Google Scholar, and ERIC. The results indicate that although continuing education is essential for teachers' professional development, its effectiveness is often hindered by limited access and resource constraints, particularly in underprivileged regions. Additionally, the study highlights that collaboration among teachers plays a crucial role in implementing more effective teaching practices. The conclusion emphasizes the need for public policies that promote equitable access to continuing education and for future research to assess the long-term impacts of such initiatives on the quality of physics education. |
