Faced with such incompatibility, the social, using power strategies, based on a universalizing effort, through certain areas of knowledge, creates ways of non-acceptance, of trying to normalize, of correcting this body, one of these ways being the pathologization of transsexual experience, framing it as a 'sexual identity disorder', as a carrier of 'transsexual symptoms', turning a healthy person into a potentially sick person. Thus, through the procedure method of bibliographical research and an analysis based on the deductive approach method, the objective of this article is to question how gender became a diagnosable category and the consequences of this process for people who experience the transsexuality, verifying the importance of depathologizing the transsexual experience so that healthy individuals are no longer seen as sick, bringing as a conclusion that depathologizing transsexuality does not mean demedicalizing it, but rather assisting the subject in a regime of informed autonomy in which the focus The main thing is your well-being.

Diante de tal incompatibilidade, o social, utilizando estratégias de poder, a partir de um esforço universalizante, por meio de determinadas áreas de saber, cria maneiras de não aceitação, de tentar normalizar, de corrigir esse corpo, sendo uma dessas maneiras a patologização da experiência transexual, a enquadrando enquanto um ‘transtorno de identidade sexual’, como portadora de ‘sintomas transexuais’, tornando uma pessoa sadia em um potencial doente.
