| Resumo: | Objective: To present the informational needs of parents of the deaf from the perspective of information literacy. Method: This is an exploratory and descriptive study, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, carried out based on field research. The research environment consisted of two institutions specialized in the area of ??deafness in northern Paraná, with the target population of parents whose deaf children study at these institutions. For data collection, a questionnaire was used, with closed and open questions. Result: Among the results, he identified that the main informational needs of deaf parents refer to information for health and treatments, for education and choice of schools, as well as to know the rights of the deaf, about Sign Language and to teach their child deaf. Conclusions: It concludes that parents need to continually learn about deafness and for that, information literacy can contribute so that they know how to recognize and address their needs, and thus help deaf children. |
