| Resumo: | The present study aimed to analyze how bodies that defy cisheteronormativity are represented in mass media. For this purpose, a qualitative methodology was chosen, using documentary research of episodes from the "Escolinha do Professor Raimundo" – highlighting the character "Seu Peru"– in the original program from 1990 to 1995, reedited in the early 2000s, and in the New Generation program with new actors, aired from 2015 to 2020, both available on Globoplay. It was discussed how elements traditionally associated with femininity, such as the color pink, clothing, and accessories, were used not to redefine their use in men but to serve as a source of humiliation through stereotyping. The caricatured behavior as a stereotype was also analyzed as being used to portray non-cisheteronormative bodies as eccentric. Concluding the study, it was observed that the humor present in the studied material distorts the possibilities of experience for the LGBTQIAP+ population into a limited, stereotyped performance, fueled by the reinforcement of prejudice in the popular imagination. Thus, it is important to examine the subjectivity produced by programs like this, especially considering its continued status as a humor reference in the country. |
