| Resumo: | Artistic expressions build and are built by social and historical contexts,contributing to a broad understanding of realities. This study, reflecting onthe meanings of childhood and child in Chico Buarque’s songs, performed:bibliographic research on art and social reality, childhood and being a child,listening, and re-listening to a set of this artist’s songs from the 1960s to2000s. We submitted the obtained data to thematic content analysis, wherethe following categories emerged: plays, childhood characteristics, care andcarelessness, childhoods, and moments of life. In this study, we display anddiscuss the category “moments of life”. Thus, we realize that being a childturns into hope, being adults and elders do not. The adult faces work andcare; the elderly, hopelessness, sadness and fatigue. |
