| Sumario: | The objective of this paper is to analyze the influence that Jair Bolsonaro's speeches had on Brazilian public policies of tourism during his government. The corpus included speeches by the ex-president about tourism and official documents from the years 2019 and 2020. The speeches were analyzed through the model of French Semiotics. This study concluded that Bolsonaro constructed his political speeches and political projects about tourism from the perspective of the “self” and the proposals defended by him are those that reflect his desires, personal tastes, ideological position, and even his hobbies. It also demonstrated that tourism is, in the discursive construction of Bolsonaro, something that contributes to the issue of deregulation, specially an environmental one. Another highlighted point is that the ex-president manipulates his supporters, asking for power, manifested through support and adherence in order to put his projects in practice. In addition, it was revealed that the president constructed his speeches over polarization, reaffirming the rhetoric “we against them”. So, the main contribution is to understand how the ideological values of bolsonarism operates, through his speeches, what allow us to comprehend which priorities and directions that this government had in relation to tourism. |
