| Resumo: | The sustainable construction industry presents a technology migration that aims to reduce the impact of buildings on the built environment, future generations and their environment. In this sense, environmental certifications can be used as political instruments in favors of social insertion, the economic environment, and social and environmental justice in the construction sector. In this context, this research aims to propose a structured method for the implementation of the LEED BD+C type certification system for new construction or major reforms, based on diagnosis of understanding requirements by professionals in the southern region of Brazil. The methodological procedure used was an applied, qualitative and exploratory research. Thus, the research was generally carried out with document analyzes, on-site visits and application of questionnaires addressed to sustainable project consulting companies, and professionals (Engineers and Architects). As a result, the work presents that the main green solutions implemented in LEED projects are focused on the design of rainwater harvesting systems, the installation of photovoltaic panels for energy generation and the use of materials with low toxicity rates. As conclusion, was observed 78.2% of the interviewed professionals consider the LEED certification system bureaucratic and that their main misunderstandings are related to four items in the LEED BD+C certification system checklist. Lastly, the research shows a structured method, based on the LEED v4 manual, focused to implement the LEED BD + C type certification system for new buildings or large revolutions. |
