Resumo:Healing practices by rezadeiras and rezadores have been known since the time of colonization in Brazil. The recognition by some and judgment by others is a place of disputes that permeates the literature about the subject. With the background of Social Museology, this article discusses the blessing practices of rezadeiras and rezadores from the villages of Farias and Lagoa dos Ferros, both municipalities of Fátima, Bahia (BA), seeking to understand the reasons why blessing practices are not perpetuating within these villages. The methods used were bibliographic and documentary research and thematic interviews with three deponents. Based on the analysis of the interviews, different motivations for not transmitting the craft are pointed out, among them: the lack of demand on the part of the community and the personal choice not to pass on the teachings.
