Descripción
Sumario:This article emerges from a research of homosexual identity in members belonging to three of the main evangelical churches of Belém do Pará (Brazil). Based on the analysis of six life stories of people attending these religious spaces, the study explores the contradictory facts that arise between the reconciliation of homosexual identity and the dogmas, rules and values of churches (where homosexuality isinevitably considered sinful). Through an ethnographic research carried out in 2016 and 2017, the work focuses on the homosexuals experience dilemma when they remain in these religious institutions, without being accepted or even perceived as homosexuals, thus experiencing a moral paradox in the way this condition is observed.
