| Resumo: | Extension activities configure a wide and varied universe that reveals the coexistence of a diverse series of conceptions, practices and intentions in their implementation. In this multifaceted scenario of university extension, there is a set of initiatives that guide their actions based on theoretical-methodological and ethical-political contributions of the conception of popular education, having as a founding principle the valorization of different forms of knowledge and in their horizon to contribute with emancipatory and social transformation practices and processes. Therefore, in the present essay, two conceptions are characterized, which, despite having their particularities, are complementary and manifest significant contributions to the resignification and reorientation of extension actions from a dialogical, problematizing and critical-propositional point of view. in this sense, the concept of popular extension is outlined, which is affirmed as a useful social work that is oriented based on the assumptions of popular education and the concept of Conversity is presented, which designates the process of shared construction of knowledge and social action that takes place from the relationship between the university and popular social movements. |
