Descripción
Sumario:The purpose of this research was to problematize gender and sexuality-based violence in the fight against LGBTQIAPN+phobia in a school setting, through an intervention proposal aimed at the principal and coordinators of a public school in a city in the interior of Ceará, Brazil. We conducted a qualitative action research project, with data collection through exploratory research, based on the following approach: initially, a situational analysis was outlined through the application of a script containing ten open-ended questions about gender identity and sexual orientation. The script was applied to the school principal and contributed to the understanding of their perception regarding cases of LGBTQIAPN students who are victims of gender and sexuality-based violence. We then invited the principals to participate in focus groups that resulted in the creation of training workshops on gender violence and sexuality that were constructed based on the questions that emerged, through their responses to the script, as well as the contents and teaching and intervention methodologies structured through the normative documents belonging to the public educational legislation established for the LGBTQIAPN+ population. The methodological perspective chosen for the interpretation of the statements was the Rehearsal Operation. For the discussion about the outcomes of the research/intervention, we relied on the theoretical contribution of intersectional gender and sexuality studies, based on a compilation of Brazilian periodical and scientific publications from the last fifteen years and articulated with classic references, such as Achille Mbembe, bell hooks, Guacira Lopes Louro, Judith Butler, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Michel Foucault, among others. As for the results achieved, we achieved the development of a plan of concrete actions in the school institution, formalized through educational pedagogical political strategies, with the perspective of gender and sexuality articulated with the field of public legislation regulations, aiming to problematize violent practices of gender and sexuality and mobilize the confrontation of oppressive LGBTQIAPN+phobic behaviors. We also carried out the implementation of a powerful collective dialogue on new educational work management with the LGBTQIAPN+ student community, challenging the daily savagery they experience and instigating the implementation of other pedagogical modes of action, based on public educational policies with a gender and sexuality perspective.
