| Sumario: | This article aims to establish reflections near the cultural phenomenon named Boi de Máscaras that happens every year in june at the little city of São Caetano de Odivelas, at Pará, Brasil. Part of the data here contained belongs to the unpublished text called Between Missionaries, Boi Mask, Pierrôs and Folia :(Re) visiting São Caetano de Odivelas. The organizational structure in this article, at first, starts at the genealogy of whoopee in the brazilian society and its performative variation in the mentioned city. Following, seeks to demonstrate the importance of the revelry to the local culture, identifying its ritualistic processes and main characters, its costumes and presentation. |
