| Sumario: | This article approaches the intertextual references from Machado de Assis with biblical texts, specially the Song of Songs, alluded to in the tale “O cônego ou Metafísica do estilo”, as an inspiration for Canon Matias to write a wedding sermon. The stages of creative process –sometimes arduous, other times fluent–are analyzed under the bias of the psycholexicological theory, presented by the narrator throughout the tale. |
