Sumario:This article narrates and discusses the 2012 municipal election in São Paulo. The working hypothesis is that the themes: evangelical vote, antipetism and the use of fake news were constant and important for the dispute. These elements would later be exacerbated in the following national elections. To this end, the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo is used as a source and object of analysis, in debate with part of the existing bibliography. The objective is to contribute to the debates of the political history of the present time in Brazil.
