| Sumario: | This article aims to analyze the impeachment process of the paraguayan president Fernando Lugo in the year 2012, compare with other attempts of presidential removal in the country and then connect it with the impasses in bilateral relations between Paraguay and Brazil during his administration. In order to find na unity that characterizes post-democratic paraguayan instability and to singularize the Lugo’s process of constitutional removal, it’s consulted for this work the latin american political instability literature, from Samuel Huntington (1994) to Aníbal Pérez-Líñan (2007). This process has similar characteristics with other attempts of political removal in the country, but the absence of a “responsability crime” and the lack of international support point to new forms of solving conflicts between the powers that violate the ules of the democratic game. |
