Resumo:Objective:The objective of this study is to verify if it exists differences in the circumferences of upper and lower members from the right and left sides of Beach Volleyball athletes from the State of Santa Catarina, of both sexes between the ages of 18 and 45 years old. Materials and Methods:14 athletes took part in this study, 7 female and 7 male, and it was carried out in a gym in Itapema with the authorization of the director. Results:For the variables (weight, height and BMI) two groups (female vs. male) with heterogeneousvalues were observed (w = 0,00). The male BMI showed these values: 43% eutrophic, 29% overweight and 29% with obesity degrees, meanwhile the women were 100% eutrophic. Conclusion:To sum up, the men showed bigger arm perimeters compared to the women. Whencompared the dominant and non-dominant sides of the same sex, the study presented symmetries in the muscle circumferences of beach volleyball athletes.
