Descrição
Resumo:This article aims to present the results of archaeological studies carried out at the Caiçara site. The results of the analysis of the remains and the dating obtained from charcoal samples from four combustion structures identified in the subsurface indicate the presence of distinct cultural groups related to at least three occupation horizons dated from the end of the middle Holocene to the present day. Of particular note is the occupation of ceramists and horticultural groups Tupiguarani and fisher-gatherer-hunter-ceramist groups, whose remains are found in several coastal sites in the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará and Piauí.
