| Summary: | This article traces a brief historical and theoretical path about the concepts and terms used in reference to the literary genre(s), sometimes called synonymous, sometimes divergent, of Magical Realism, Marvelous Realism and Fantastic Realism. To this end, relatively recent theoretical studies were sought, which discussed, above all, the concepts attributed to the aforementioned nomenclatures. The discussion aims to present, briefly, the theoretical arguments previously made about the distinctions and similarities between terminologies and literary styles. Critics such as Camarani (2014), Duarte (2017) and Ielgeski (2021), among others, make up the body of theorists employed in this research, since, among conceptual discussions of the Magical Realism genre, they have relevant points of approximation and distancing for literary studies, especially Latin American literature. |
