| Resumo: | This text presents results of research aimed at assessing the environmental situation of the Ribeirão Douradinho basin, in the Triangulo Mineiro, carried out through bibliographic surveys, fieldwork and application of the Leopold Matrix, adapted with emphasis on actions that generate impacts on related environmental aspects hydrological behavior. The Leopold Matrix, developed as a qualitative method for the assessment of environmental impact, was applied through interactive analysis between the impacting actions (lines of the matrix) and the environmental aspects (columns of the matrix) through the following parameters: relevance, magnitude, scale, duration and reversibility. It is noteworthy that in the studied site the environmental impacts are due to several types of actions, representative in relation to the scenario of the Triângulo Mineiro region. Buildings, road traffic, cattle raising and the suppression of vegetation for various purposes stand out as the main activities developed in the basin, which generate impacts. The results showed that more than half of the points analyzed through the application of the matrix present high values, representing a highly impacted area. The values obtained here indicate that there is a need for better management of the natural resources of the Ribeirão Douradinho basin. |
