An important strategy used in this process is listening to the alumni opinions about the course.  Also, taking into consideration industrial production managers opinions about the demands of the current market on competences needed for an Industrial Engineer. Therefore, this research aimed to identify the skills needed by the Industrial Engineer from the perspective of graduates and industrial production managers, comparing them with the skills that the investigated course seeks to develop. For this, a case study was carried out, with an online questionnaire applied to alumni and interviews with sixteen industrial production managers. The importance of non-technical competences was highlighted, being also indicated as the most absent in professionals in the area. It was found that the competences most valued by the participants are considered in the investigated course, but some should be more highlighted. It was concluded that there is a need for learning strategies in authentic contexts, providing professional experiences.

Uma estratégia importante utilizada nesse processo é a escuta dos egressos, da sua avaliação sobre a formação que tiveram, considerando as exigências que encontraram no ambiente de trabalho. Também, a escuta de gerentes de produção industrial traz importantes contribuições, com demandas atuais do mercado em relação às competências necessárias a esses profissionais. Assim, esta pesquisa objetivou identificar as competências necessárias ao engenheiro de produção na perspectiva de egressos e de gerentes de produção industrial, comparando com as competências que o curso investigado busca desenvolver. Para isso, foi realizado um estudo de caso, com coleta de dados por questionário online, aplicado a egressos do curso, e entrevistas com dezesseis gerentes de produção industrial da região oeste do Paraná. Como resultado, destacou-se a importância das competências não técnicas, sendo também indicadas como as mais ausentes em profissionais da área. Verificou-se que as competências mais valorizadas pelos participantes estão consideradas no curso investigado, mas algumas devem ser mais evidenciadas.
